Hi, I'm Tobias

I've been interested in photography and film making ever since I was a kid. I really got into video editing and visual effects when I bought a Nikon D40X - the first camera I owned that could shoot video. From there, everything changed.

I taught myself After Effects and Premiere Pro, created my own VFX short films, and started the Surfaced Studio YouTube channel to share the journey. I'm amazed it has grown to over 400,000 subscribers.

I love all things tech - cameras, gear, gadgets and the software that lets people across the globe get into film making and visual effects. Most of all, I love to teach. I strongly believe good training should be both engaging and entertaining - I liked the concept of edutainment so much it became part of the brand.
