hi tobias

i have another issue using particular trapcode effect again,my problem is while i was following this tutorial:

my effect didn't emit particles from the whole form of the layer i use a circular logo and emit of the particles comes from the center of the circle, not as i noticed on his project the emit of particles comes from all the form (if i could say ) of his logo layer, even if his logo has kind of an unusual shape which makes the effect looks great.

i hope i explained right

Cheers

Hi momorojo,

Would you be able to share an image of what problem are you seeing when you try to re-create the effect?

Chances are that you are not emitting enough particles from your layer to be able to get an accurate representation of the shape happening to begin with

Not sure me watching the tutorial will help as I first need to understand what exactly your problem is.

Cheers,

Tobias

hi tobias

first of all i couldn't upload an image from my desktop because the forum doesn't allow it ,but i will try to explain as much as i can

my problem exactly is the particles are emitting from the middle of the logo that is a circular one, even i tried with another logo with a different shape (redbull logo) but the particles always emit from the middle of the layer (probably from the anchor point) and than they keep moving outside of it until they cover it ,here is some of the setts im using that may help you understand my issue:

  • particles/sex:60000
  • emit type: using my logo comp (3d)
  • layer sampling:current frame
  • random seed:200000
  • particles life:1.0
  • size:1.0
  • particle type: sphere

Btw im using the master system

i hope that i cleared my problem so you could help, and im so grateful for your replies on my previous questions

Hm, difficult to tell without an image or a video (you can upload to another place online and link to it?).

It sounds though like your emitter source isn't set up correctly. Make sure you set up the layer you want to use as an emitter to be a 3D layer and then change the emitter on the Particular effect afterwards. If you first assign the layer and then change it to 3D it might not pick it up.

Let me know if that works

hi Tobias

thank u for your reply again as you said i tried the effect from beginnig, and it turns out that the problem is after i precompose my logo and make it 3D i keep the scale in side the logo comp 100% and i change the value to " 60% scale" of the precomposed 3d logo inside the Main comp to make it small,so i realized that is wrong so it was causing the problem, then when i changed my scale to 100% of my precomposed logo layer before i went to the precomposition to adjust the scale ,the effect worked fine and i could emit from the whole form of the logo.

thank u so much for your help i aprecciate it so much

GREAT forum, keep up the good work man

Hi Momorojo,

Great to hear you figured out the issue! Yeah, Particular reads the 'contents' of your pre-composed layers, but doesn't observe any effects, masks or transformations you have on the layer within the same Comp - which can trip you up pretty easily. Happy to hear you managed to resolve the issue

All the best!

Tobias
