Hi everyone, I'm a big star wars fan, and decided to do a fan animation on AE and E3D. However, I was curious if it was possible to make a 3d model in E3D explode. Is there any way to do it, or should I use c4D or blender for that? Any help would be appreciated!
Element 3D is considered a 'particle replicator'. It doesn't have support for animating models or spawning particles. You could create the explosion animation in another 3D program such as Blender or C4D and export it as an OBJ sequence. Element 3D can use OBJ sequences for animations so that might be a way to get it to work
However, that might be quite complex. If you already have the animation in Blender or C4D it might be easier to just render them out from there, add some stock footage explosions / particles in After Effects and composite it all together.
That might simply be the more straight forward workflow unless you have a requirement to change the camera in After Effects
