Candy Crush Saga Nightmare – VFX Short Film

Are you addicted to Candy Crush Saga? Then this could be your worst nightmare!

Behind the Scenes

I hope you enjoyed my Candy Crush Saga VFX short film!

Even though it is only about a minute long, a lot of work has gone into creating this video. Almost every single shot includes a 3D integration VFX to show the Candy Crush Saga bomb lying next to Walter and it took me a considerable amount of time to get all the animations synced up properly.

The bomb itself was created in Cinema 4D and for most shots I used the After Effects Cineware plugin to get my 3D element into my composition. The only exception is the explosion at the end. Again, I created the explosion in Cinema 4D, but because rendering was pretty slow due to physics simulation and motion blur, I ended up rendering the scene out and importing the rendered frames into After Effects. This allowed me to composite them without having to wait 30 seconds each time I navigated to a new frame.

This project has been a lot of fun and two tutorials I want to create for this Candy Crush Saga VFX short film are covering the Cineware plugin which I’ve come to love and showing you how to create a cool looking explosion in Cinema 4D!

So keep an eye out, leave any comments, questions or suggestions in the section below and thank you very much for watching!
